Chewing on Wood

Lets ask our selves a question. When has it become ok to chew on a piece of wood? Yes, I do understand it has been done for many years, but why has society let it go on for this long. Not only is it bad for your teeth but also it doesn't help tour breath either. Looking like a cow chewing on its own cud is disgusting, it is as nasty as chewing tobacco, why not be a man and smoke it. And if my roommate was to have a brother, he might look something like this. And of course I am talking about the Asian.
