De Niro's Give Back
Actor's Sixth Annual Tribeca Film Festival continues 9/11 legacy
NEW YORK - Robert De Niro and producing partner, Jane Rosenthal have announced this year's lineup for the Tribeca Film Festival. 157 feature length films and 88 shorts from a total of 47 countries will be screened from April 25th - May 6th in New York City. Boy I'm glad I live in Madison, Wisconsin!
The diversity of films offered, from documentaries to independents to freakin' Spider-Man 3, only enforce the idea of strength through diversity. An idea that Mr. De Niro first latched onto in rebuilding the New York community post 9/11.
"When it started out, it was helping the rebuilding of Tribeca spiritually, financially, and culturally and it's still doing that," mumbled De Niro.
Realizing sequels to Analyze This and Meet the Parents, would not be enough to help heal a wounded city, De Niro and Rosenthal additionally created the Tribeca Film Festival. The film festival would serve as a catalyst to stimulating the weakening economy, but more importantly the damaged spirit that New York was so dearly missing.
"It was our way to try to help heal our community. It was the only thing we knew how to do to help," commented Rosenthal.

Sounds cool. Do you guys go to the Madison Film Fest?
Sundance is fun. Get tickets early! That's what I learned.
going to a film festival involves long lines and actual communication between human beings...something the mij is not to fond of. so the answer is no.
Yeah, the lines are a bitch. I think the Mij's skin turns blue when in direct sunlight. Kind of like Zartan, Zandar and Zarana.
What the hell did I do?
Ain't no direct sunlight in a movie theater. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at a fucking film festival. Besides, I have film festivals all the time in 312 - cdProjects film festivals. I drove by the Kane County Fairgrounds this weekend and thought about you guys - maybe I can ask some of your friends there what the hell those Z names are.
mij's comments are equally as funny as his posts...except the ones regarding my natalie...mums the word.
"my natalie..." Do you mean Natalie Merchant? 'Cause it was my understanding that you gave Portman to the Mij.
this joke is getting old...has been for too long.
I'm done acknowledging it.
and I'm done with this site.
peace,
Gangsta
