A Word of Caution to Jose Gonzalez

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - MADISON (YIFTM) - Singer/guitarist Jose Gonzalez performed a free concert on campus at the Union Terrace last week. His inspired introspective lyrics were met with pitchers full of beer and indifference by the frat boys, enlightened looks of recognition from the sorority sisters as Mr. Gonzalez performed a song featured on their (and the Mij's) beloved OC, and head-nodding approval from the hoody covered indy kids.

As for my lady and I: we were enchanted from beginning to end. Jose's debut album, Veneer, is 30 minutes of pure relationship bliss and its songs' live interruptions add a whole new spellbinding aesthetic the studio cannot capture.

The evening turned ugly however as my girlfriend's earnest glee, turned into a fan's fatal attraction. Like a Jaguar hunting a caiman, her stealth and cunning-ness ultimately captured the bewildered musician. But instead of biting his brain, all she required was a hug and a photograph...mementos that will no doubt serve her fantasies well.

Listen up Gonzalez! If I ever catch you or your melodic mellowness anywhere near these parts again, you can be sure that I will unleash a plague of gangsta shit the likes of which you have never experienced.

As for the possibility of a three way with me and my hot ass girl...consider that offer null and void.

Sappy pap.

That's what this guy sings.

One needs to be blinded by love to even consider listening to Jose Gonzalez.

"But I really like it."

(Good article)

Not emo at all you fucking ignorant.

More in the tradition of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, etc.

He's too good for your taste, so don't bother seeking his stuff.
