In Search Of... A Championship

LONDONDERRY - Lewis Hamilton is not something like a phenomenon - he is one. Not even a night out in Indianapolis with N.E.R.D.'s Pharrell Williams this week could stop him from gaining another pole... and ultimately another win.

Hamilton took the U.S. Grand Prix minutes ago, over his teammate two-time champion Fernando Alonso, who finished second. He has a comfortable lead in the points and has been mistake-free so far this season. Unbelievable.

He is truly entering Tiger Woods territory here. When was the last time an athlete dominated his sport from the word go? It doesn't really happen in football or baseball. Shaq in the NBA possibly? But it's always hard to compare team sports with individual performances, and so far Hamilton has been peerless.

2007 F1 Championship - "It's almost over now."

They played "Rock Star" on the bumpers for the F1 broadcast this week - bad ass!

They should have played something from the Cars.

Or is that too OTN?

How was the wilderness trip?

Yeah, but what are your thoughts on the new Bridgestone tires? I feel that these compliment Hamilton because of his skilled driving, whereas Alonso is certainly more of an aggresive driver. We all now that since these new tires don't stick to the track, the importance of skill supercedes that of aggression. Don't you agree?

There's two compounds teams must use in each race - can you elaborate on this? This is a new angle for me - lots of talk of differences in the cars and team orders since Hamilton and Alonso are teammates.

I run Bridgestone Potenzas on the old Mijetta. I like 'em (when all four wheels are on my car at least).
