Across the Universe. Ha, Wait, Really?!
Polaris, North Star - In other Beatles related news, NASA is set to broadcast the popular track, “Across the Universe” to Polaris aka the North Star. As a symbol for 3 distinct anniversaries (40th of the song, 45th of the Deep Space Network, and 50th of NASA) “Across the Universe” will soon hold a much more literal meaning.
Taking over 430 years to reach it’s target, the Lennon/McCartney written song will become, according to CNN.com, “the first-ever beaming of a radio song by the space agency directly into deep space.”
We here at Yeah, I Figured That Much hope that other worldly beings dig the Beatles, and that they haven’t listened to that song too much already. It would be a bit embarrassing to send a gift 431 years “Across the Universe” only to find that they already have it.
