It’s A Shame the 24TH Only Comes Around 12 Times A Year

Yeah, I Figured celebrates the third of 12 monthly “Rickey Henderson Days.”

(Please note: This article originally appeared in Wave 1 form of YIFTM on 1/24/7, and due to laziness appears in Wave 2 form exactly as it did before)

GLENDALE, CA (YIFTM) – Greetings and welcome to January 24th, the first “Rickey Henderson Day” of the year. The extreme importance of this day is of course, the celebration of the world’s most important entertainment figure, Rickey Henley Henderson. This future Hall of Famer, and cultural attaché bore the unforgettable number 24 on his jersey for countless seasons. “Rickey owns that number,” Nathan, a lifelong Henderson fan exclaims, “that number belongs to Rickey!”
An even further look into the cultural and social importance that is “Rickey Henderson Day” we remind our readers that Rickey Henderson’s Major League Baseball debut was on the 24th of June, 1979 (a mere 3 days prior to this writer’s birth) for the Oakland Athletics.
Whatever team you associate with, wherever you are in the world, take 24 seconds to remember the greatest baseball player to ever play the game. And as Rickey himself puts it, “Lou Brock was a great base stealer, but today I am the greatest.”
Truer words were never spoken.

I think one can really make an argument that he was the best player ever. If you determine that by all-around play he did it all. His HOF speech is going to be legendary!

We should go to that.
