Been breathing the beat of 70's funk soul lately. Great stuff is out from Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Jay-Z, and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - all worth your dime.
But I'd like to highlight Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigator's Keep Reachin' Up, a collection of songs sure to get your heart racin' and toes tappin'. It's a sweat stain of an album.

You know the kind of album that creates sweat stains in the armpits of your neatly pressed white undershirt, purchased from the Gap for a cool $16 ($12 if you buy 3, which you know I did!)

That I may be, but this funk fusion of deliriously delicious vocals, floor moppin' horns, booty-grindin' bass lines, and 'put yo ass to bed drummin' has me not givin' a fuck.
