Yi-gregious Praise?
RUDI - The international intrigue surrounding the signing of Yi Jianlian by the Milwaukee Bucks seemed like something out of a fictional Cold War potboiler. With all the rumored backroom deals, secretive travel and handshake agreements, it was like a James Bond film without any sex, violence or British people. Of course it was partly set in Milwaukee - and I don't think we'll see Daniel Craig tight-rope walking the Calatrava while being shot at anytime soon.
Anyway, I thought it was much ado about nothing - an archaic view of the secretive "Far East". Well, after tuning into my first Bucks telecast of the year, there may be something to the conspiracy theories after all. It seems like Yi gets praised by the announcing duo of Jim Paschke and Jon McGlocklin everytime the ball is dribbled. I would like to know what the company-line is on discussing Yi. What's going to happen when he has a 2-19 night? I came away from the game tonight believing this guy has more upside than a young Michael Jordan. Don't mean to be negative or anti-Yi, but let's let the guy play a few more games. Embarrassing.
I'd like to hear a Ted Davis radio broadcast - he always seemed to pull no punches. But now that I have moved up in the world and am mooching off GW's HDTV, that probably won't happen - unless I go somewhere in my car - which I never will.
Yi-kes.

Welcome back to the ditch Beat/Treat/Greasebox.
I really haven't been into basketball since the 01 season. But I'm hoping this year will change all of that.
It sucks living on the west coast though. There is nothing on here except the damn Lakers.
I hate the damn Lakers.
