A Bri3f L00k at JDot’s 200N8 NewYears REsolutions

Here is a brief look at a vague attempt to better myself in 200N8.

1) Recycle. Ever since Minh and I spent 2 hours organizing the entire household’s 3 month recycling section of the garage I’ve yet to recycle anything out of sheer disgust and overall feeling of bleak helplessness. The payoff for that hard work was indeed enough to prevent me from recycling for almost 2 years. After spending almost 2 weeks with my folks to end out 2007 and seeing how meticulous they are about recycling, I feel it’s my duty as a consumer to attempt to do my part and help make this world a better place, if even contributing my 0.000000000000000242%.

2) Positive Outlook. I’ve always kind of given myself unwarranted pats on the back for keeping a relatively positive outlook on life. I’d like to take that a step further and become so positive that I may influence those around me to become positive as well, therefore creating an overall positive environment both at work and at home. We’ll see how long this one lasts.

3) Increasing the Quality of Life. I’ll attempt to tackle this resolution in several different ways. First and foremost, I need to find love. It’s out there, I just need to train my eyes to see. Second is consolidation. After spending some GREAT quality time with both GDub and Greasetreats they’ve helped me come to the conclusion that I need to grow up and embrace the future not as a means of an end to the past, but as an untold exciting chapter ahead. Since I’ve been back on the West Coast I’ve cleaned out my dresser, gotten rid of unused clothes, cleaned under the kitchen sink and thrown out unused kitchen supplies, and my goal for this weekend (I plan on having 1 project/goal for each weekend of 200N8, and yes, I consider relaxing to be a reasonable goal) is to tackle the overflowing Mtn. of garbage that is our garage. I think after accomplishing that I’ll have both more money and space in which to slowly structure my inevitable future.

Well, 3 is good. I’d like to do a lot more, but I honestly want to accomplish these, and I feel that listing 20 things I’d like to better myself with could get a bit overwhelming and eventually not get done.

That’s all.
