...might I suggest OTP

If I think hard enough I can recall my first bar experience. Having just turned 21 I was working at Domino’s on the west side of Madison. I was working a closing shift and (oh shit, 9:39 right now. Ricky broke Brock’s record with that number. :) after 12 midnight, those of us who were “of age” hurried our closing duties and rushed over to OTP (Old Towne Pub) before they were legally obligated to close their doors. If my recollections are correct my I Heart Bubbles buddy RRRandy was among our 3 or so pizzaboy posse.

All in all it was an extremely tame evening. I think I ordered some peanuts and played some “dahts” with “Don’t Call Me Dandy” over some Berghoff Darks. It’s funny, I don’t recall who won, who exactly was there, or what my first tab was, but I remember hurrying our end-of-day driver duties in order to secure my first “purchased” drink. I have no idea what the rest of the YIFTM crew was doing that evening, or if we were even on speaking terms. I just remember heading home after getting a few quick drinks only to fall asleep and “officially” do the whole thing again later that evening.

I can’t recall the last time I’ve been to OTP, and I don’t see myself there anytime in the near future, but if you’re on the west side of Madison and you’re thirsty for some brew, might I suggest OTP. The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is inviting, at least it was 7 years ago.

I think I was hanging out with Mirabai.

I don't think I've ever been here.

This place is located right across the street from the Woodman's parking lot. You remember, the one where it took you 10 minutes to pull out into oncoming traffic back in 1998.

I don't recall either who won the "dahts" games - but sure as shit it wasn't me.

7 years ago - I also recall at that time that not only did they have the cheap drinks and inviting atmosphere, but they also had a few barmaids with the kind of ass you could suck on for a day.
Haven't been there lately, I couldn't tell you whether or not THAT'S still the same.

Mmmmmmmm....
