COFFEE AND CONFUSION
Yeah I Figured's Album of the Week:
Either/Or by Elliott Smith
Gangsta here with this week's suggested listening: the late great Elliott Smith's Either/Or. An album so perfectly tailored to either consuming mass quantities of coffee or blowing your brains out. I know when I hear tracks like 'Angeles' or 'Say Yes', I'm instantly transformed into reflect mode concerning past loves, for sure...but essentially I get lost, deep in the valley of regret. More than any other singer, Elliott has a way of singing about the most depressing and troubling of times, with a voice that cries out for help. The odd thing is the listener is left with a feeling of hope, at least that's how I feel at the end of his songs.
Like a lot of great artists, Elliott was unable to conquer his demons. But thankfully he left behind a musical legacy that can help others win out.

This guy is good.
It's too bad his lady stabbed him.
I hope to go out like that too.
Oh, and BTW, what a nice Christian thing to say.
No, but going back to one of the comments that's now been erased from our memories, what is Elliot's best album?
I second this one also.
I've listened to all his albums over the years and this one is the strongest song for song.
Alameda is a personal favorite - amazing album!
