YIFTM's AOTW for June 22nd - June 29
GLENDALE, CA – For this week’s YIFTM AOTW we’re going with a classic. Big Sexy Land by Revolting Cocks. Released in 1986 on the now defunct Wax Trax! Chicago based record label, this is the definition of Dark Wave, and an overly simplistic piece of industrial nostalgia.
I purchased my copy (on vinyl) at the record store that used to be 2 doors down from Milwaukee’s finest, The Landmark. This same record store would provide heatbox with his vinyl copy of Hot Charity as well as several other treasured finds.
Big Sexy Land is the first full length by Revco and in my opinion their best. This is Al Jourgensen before any monumental collaboration with longtime producer Paul Barker (Hermes Pan and Hypo Luxa respectively). Cocks as they appear here consist of only Uncle Al, Luc Van Acker, and Richard 23 from Front 242.
This album reeks of the 80’s the way I can imagine RLC reeks of moist perfection.
As one of my favorite albums of any genre, I implore any/every one of you to “seek out” this album.

This won't come to a shock to you, but i sold the two rev co albums i owned.
funny enough...i bought em used and sold em back to the original purchased point.
paid $15 for both, got $2 back.
Sound investment, Gangsta!
"moist perfection" - a new high in the lexicon of the perverse.
First VS's and now MP's.
I've got a devient mind.
Thanks to all of you who've helped contribute.
I have no doubt that you got rid of your Revco albums.
They're not underground obscure DJ's or power pop. Your 2 favorite genres.
hey, don't forget about the 'chicks w/picks' and 'closet homos'
examples of both: Sahara Hotnights, Cibo Matto, and J to the T
"Chicks w/ dicks. Dudes w/ jiners."
aka JT fans.
I dig the Sahara Hot Dikes. They were good when they played with INC and RFTC at the Met in Chitown.
