These Two Idiots Didn’t Like “The Departed”

MADISON, WI (YIFTM) – In a stunning display of ignorance and tastelessness, two California men professed their complete lack of enthusiasm for Martin Scorsese’s latest gangster drama, The Departed.

The sentiments were relayed via an email by one of the men and confirmed later by phone call.

In the email, the sender appeared to be nervous to admit his profound dislike for the picture, by simply stating, “Would you still be my friend if I said I didn’t like it?”

The obviously disturbed individual continued down his path of idiocy later in the evening with a follow-up phone conversation. “Minh didn’t like it either,” the man pointed out, referencing his roommate and friend. Realizing the hole he had dug himself was getting deeper and deeper by the minute, the lunacy spilled over into the weekend.

“Mean Streets is worthless to me,” uttered the man, cementing his utter disdain for Mr. Scorsese’s breakthrough and widely acknowledged landmark film. “I get so bored when watching it.”

To his credit and saving grace, the man did reveal admiration for Mr. Scorsese’s masterpiece of societal isolation, Taxi Driver. “By far my favorite of his.”
