There Will Be Picket Lines

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - Texas blood money, crazed oil barons, big business cover-up, false accusations leading to war, and a precocious teen whose eloquent sass eclipses her father's. George Bush has faced all of the above during his career in public office. Most of which he's endured with a down-south stoicalness that has somehow elicited him two terms as President of this here United States.

In fact, you could almost compare his resiliency to Gary Cooper's steadfast resolve in "High Noon." Except Mr. Bush is neither strong, nor silent; his mess left for the next sheriff to clean.

But we're not here to bemoan Bush, we're here to talk Oscar!

The nominations are in and leading the charge with 8 a piece are "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood."

Both are nominated in the Best Picture category along with "Atonement", "Juno", and "Michael Clayton."

No surprise nominations as in years past, but what remains in limbo is whether Oscar will have a red carpet ambushed by paparazzi or picket lines. The ongoing Hollywood Writer's Strike may steal the show. Tune in February 24th to find out.

There is a rumor going around town that Bucho has been seen leaving clubs with a certain Juno. I wonder if this will lead to anything substantial.

Bucho + Juno!
